‘ Just a moment please!’

Yes just a moment.

Just a moment to compile the thoughts, the emotions..

New year is coming. In a literal sense another year. The calender will be replaced, the year would change in new copies of children, 2021( scratch that) will be replaced by 2022.

In a metaphorical sense, 2022 will bring back its own wonders, joyful, remorseful. It’s another ride to be seated. So, as we are standing in the waiting queue of the ride, what can we imagine?

What can we already expect?

The thrills, some goals planned, something to do, the resolutions.

The vagueness of whether the outcome will be achieved or what can be expected, is still something which we can’t stop thinking can we?

Illustration created by us.

While leaving through the door, 2021 did drop some questions. Unanswered.

But one thing is for sure, we are becoming for closer than ever to realize all problems, all struggles, “worldly impending” issues are as much a part of our lives as we as a part of them.

This entangle is increasing ever more and brings a special touch to 2022.

Don’t you see? With each passing year we are becoming somewhat closer. A climate disaster somewhere in Brazil will draw a sharp response from young minds in far north. A legal battle there will draw writers here!

Let’s join the ‘NO RESOLUTION’ bandwagon only keeping in mind the simplest that-We’ll ride another year-2022.It will be buttered with problems.

At times we will be convinced it is a lonely ride in a sea. Sea is full of flesh eating fishes. Our personal problems will be on full bloom and we won’t be able to look beyond them.

But occasions will come when we will feel like we are passing it all together. Through more problems, we will feel connected than ever. Here we come 2022!

Wishing everyone a very happy New Year! Happy new year!

RESULTS:

‘Adding…’

What if you have written something near the word limit but which has absolutely nothing to show up? What if the data and achievements showing “big numbers”

isn’t really the case?

Its all about data. Hence data manipulation is something which prevents us from seeing what is actually the reality behind.

For instance you know crores of people getting benefited by some scheme of the government when the actual no.s are much too low.

In our country, in a state called bihar , there were some fake vaccination entries and it is being said ( because such irregularities hardly come off the lid to us!)these were done to show ambitious no.s of vaccination rate and ‘on the surface’ achievement of an ambitious target! You can check a report here

So have we been trying to reach ginormous amount of words? Are we being fooled with lots of no.s?

Think for now! you can see the other posts of our illustration series right below

  1. It could be someone or you
  2. Experts advices..

Would love to hear from you all down!

  • After the story, share a cool fact you read! Mention the source too! (OPTIONAL)
  • This competition ends on 20th December 2021, winners will be announced on 1st January 2022.
  • Nominate some regular commenters of your blog to show them how much it means! Also nominate your friends! The questions are fixed, so you don’t need to make new ones!

1.Do you like to read? Which book made you like reading?

Khushi: Obviously I like to read, as for which book made me like reading umm ” when they were children” which is like a book with small biographies of famous social celebrities.  That intrigued me into reading and exploring other genres as well.

Kunjal: I like to read too!! Chicken soup for the soul series, was i guess probably one of the first series i had ever read. And it made me want to read more. ( Harry Potter was a bit later)

2.Which book are you currently reading?

Khushi:Currently I am reading ” The Stranger ” by Albert Camus

Kunjal:I am currently reading sadie and well.

Andd How to control your emotions πŸ˜‚

3.Which book would you recommend non book-lovers to read?

Khushi: Depends on the genre but for teens maybe ” Maze runner” and as for those who like some deep stuff I’d recommend ” The Book Thief “

Kunjal: I would recommend everyone to read the books by Vera Nazarian, that is the Atlantis Grail series. Again, it was one of the first series I had fallen in love with. I would also recommend everyone to read Midnight library by Matt hiag.

4.Which book character describes you the best?

Khushi: Honestly I haven’t really found a character that describes me, cause I guess I am an atypical person. And people in books are usually different from reality (especially Indian reality) which is the whole point of fiction, so yeah I guess the character that best describes me will be seen only in a book written by me.

Kunjal:. Clara Andrews from the Clara Andrews series describes me the best. She is like me, totally disorganized wanting to leave an impression or two on everyone she meets.

5.Which kind of book do you hate a lot and why(please don’t spread hate!)

Khushi: nah , cant hate books. As a writer myself I know how much feelings are attached to the words a person writes and the hard work that’s put in .

Kunjal: Ok I also agree that there are tons of efforts put in a book. But doesn’t mean books are exempted from literary view. So, I didn’t basically like the Midnight children, because it couldn’t carry me into the story.

Write a story with just 5 lines (5 because their are 5 letters in β€œstory”, hehe) (you will be given points based on the story you write!)

Khushi:

The cold winter winds were blowing and Jared was sitting in his blanket, enjoying his coffee in a hotel . There was a knock on the door; ” room service ” it said, and Jared, not wanting to get out of his blanket, responded with a ” Come in”. A woman entered the room with a trolley in front of her. ” Sir, what would you like to have ? ” , Jared looked at the tray and what he saw was not food but rather sliced animals, skeletons, gooey eyeballs and cut out ox tongues…… He looked at the lady again and her eyes began to bleed, her hands turned into clawed ones and in a husky voice she said ” welcome to the city of bones ”

( A reference to the first book of Mortal Instruments series)

Kunjal:

Β She screamed or giggled or she did the same thing β€œ He β€˜s here!”. Both the friends drew apart and the other girlΒ  ran fast into the house before she got too late. She arranged the necklace on her neck, and the bindi on her forehead. She looked at herself, the hastily put lipstick, and thought she was not at all ready. He had reached the door, and she emerged from the stairs, slightly slipping off the absurd long attire and she reached his feet and touched them with her fingers and said in a soft voice that betrayed her earlier hesitance β€˜Β  I will just wash your feet if you come inside husband~’

NOMINATION

Anyone who loves a challenge can do it!. a five liner is a tough one!

So, we both really enjoyed this one!! it was definately hefty crafting stories. tell us which one is your favourite in the comments below!

‘The unlived part’

Hey there, Its Khushi. Please view this post on the site!

The day before yesterday was yet another day of my student life, studying, reading, listening to music and other routine activities. But there was a slight difference, a slight absurdness and also a slight meaning in it. A childish musing came to my mind. I remembered my younger self.

There was one person less in the world.  Actually, there were many people who would have lost their lives the same day but only one with whom I was familiar – that of General Bipin Rawat.

You know I had never thought I would write such a post, and when I asked my friend Kunjal if this was a good idea, she said she didn’t even know him and he was merely a name to her. She asked, “You wanna write for some acknowledgement thing?”

Something , despite her jabs, still gave me all more reason to write this.

On Independence Day and republic day ceremonies, my dad would ask me ” do you know who that is?” And I’d proudly say ” yes, the chief of defense staff”. The answer which he had told me some time ago and which he always asked for.

It was not as if we had any personal relation, that I felt some emptiness upon hearing about his death.  It was merely a feeling of losing another Indian.

And it’s important for me to state that there were others who lost their lives, other defense personnel, his wife, the person who piloted the plane.

Right now for me, it’s not about how well I know the person, it is more of losing a citizen.Everyday people lose their lives, everyday some people sit down, look and reflect. And all of a sudden an expression of regret  comes over them.

β€˜They didn’t do enough.’

All regrets coming in out of a vacuum created on losing the person you love.

What about the person who dies? What about some people who die at the right time but too early? Hand moving ahead for the ledge only for the whole body to be whooshed back down by a heavy force.

Gen Bipin Rawat had envisaged a major change in the Army. He wanted to integrate the army, the air force and the navy. Just like a family bond which will respond better for future security needs. The work will be done by the next CDS officer.

Many people die with unfulfilled passionate dreams. I think all I wanted to say is that it was my realization that we do not live our lives enough, blaming others and trying to bring a change in what they do and how well they do is something , but carrying out the limited hours we have, that’s what we are missing.

Let’s live more, act less. Let us be unprovoked by interventions and work hard to live. For what we continuously say is  worth living in our lives.

Hopefully some of us reading this post will achieve this.

And I hope one of them is me. ……

Hello everyoneβ™₯!!. Both of us have been nominated by the award by aayushi di.She is a very nice blogger and overall she is very sweet to talk to!! And secondly before we proceed, we would like to say the best thing about awards is that you get to know about the writers of a blog you have been following! AAYUSHI DI ‘S QUESTIONS:

One thing that makes you happy whatever the situation maybe?

Whoops.  A call from someone close, or you thought was close and saying β€˜I just call ed like that’.

Its rare to get calls during covid! Or someone just remembering my birthday date(30 Jannnnnnn!!!). I don’t like people wishing me after watching some β€œStatus”. I prefer not to put any status during my birth day!

Solitude. Being alone in my room with loud sad music and a cup of coffee or a dark chocolate and reading quotes or just vibing

2. Your Favourite person?

My favourite person is umm I am still meeting people. I have more than one or i have none. Khushi is one of them though( dont be afraid)

Ehh not much of a people person you know, like seriously people? At least not people of current time period. I like old souls like Oscar Wilde and Sylvia Plath , man those were the people.

3. Your Celebrity Crush?

Ranbir Kapoor and Ian Somerhalder and Louis Tomlinson( wooooooo) and yes. Basically these many!

Ok i have way too many. Harry styles is on the top, then Mathew Daddario ( for shadowhunters) , Timothee Chalamet ( for everything literally) and obviously Robert Pattinson ❀

4. Your most embarrassing memory as a child? (if you could recall)

I was sort of  locked between a fat auntie sitting in a bench and her big dog and I was standing on that bench( you ill get why) and the bench was sidelined to the bush. So I was jammed from all three sides. And the dog

the dog

He licked me fat against my cheek. That was just so terrifying!

I have also embarrassingly rescued myself from situations in an ingenious way. But um yeah another time(when I get another awardπŸ˜ƒ_)

Ok confession time, I was literally the most rule following kid . Obeying everything and just sitting at one place enjoying time with myself .

5. Cakes or Cookies?

The larger the better. Hence cakes

Hmmm.. cakes. Unless the cookies are choco chip cookies then cookies.

6. If you could have any superpower, it would be..?

Reading people β€˜s minds while talking to them to see whether they are interested or not!

To change personalities. It is too tiring living the same life. One day id like to be an actor , another day a songwriter, the list would go on.

7. One thing you can’t live without?

I ill only know when I lose them. And there are many things I can’t live without. My kindle for one.

If you literally ask me then one thing I can’t live without is my spectacles . But actually what i cannot live without is a diary and an ink pen .

8. If you win a lottery, what would be the first thing to buy?

I would love to buy italion jalepino mushroomo labrehee lo yeah.

Some exotic dish!

The first thing would be a trip to France

9. One thing you are afraid of?

Sadly, I am afraid of heights and my father pinching my ears or coming near my teeth. I am afraid of ravenous people behind my marksheet.

I dont think so. No fears for me πŸ™‚

Your Nickname? (If any)

Khushi πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ

No none

11. Your three most used emojis?

I am a very simple person there. I use β€˜πŸ˜ƒπŸ™‚πŸ˜‚. The middle one is for sarcasm only. Other things I like to say directly!

Favorite emojis πŸ˜‘πŸ₯²πŸ˜

Experts experts advises advisers…!

Out with another continuation of an illustration series. We wrote the first post here.

Politicians oops policy makers making a thread for science by the experts rather than envisionable science for people on the ground. Is it solving the problem? Hmmm.

Here, the three farm bills which had been passed and because of which farm protests had been happening since one year, had been passed without much consultations with the neccesary people themselves!

In sri Lanka, suddenly the whole fertiliser based farming has been shifted to organic farming and farmers are left shocked by this sudden suprise! Organic farming accounts for just 1.5 per cent in the whole world.. We can guess why.

‘ Should the enterprise of anything be the knowledgeable experts only, the world is set to see the unexpected!’

What do you think about this?

The topic is wide and we are looking forward to your comments!
