I wanted to write a poem,

A poem explaining my deepest thoughts,

A poem filled with my life.

The poem I wanted to write came to me suddenly,

Felt like it was talking to me.

I wanted to write a poem when I was at my worst,

I wanted to write a poem when I was the happiest,

Yes, I wanted to write a poem for myself,

To comfort myself, to know.

I wrote that poem,

It made me laugh,

It made me blush and happy,

No matter how lame I wrote,

No matter how unskilled it was, it was mine,

It was beautiful to me,

It made me think I can do it, I just need to keep going,

It made me realize how much I love this moment,

How much I care,

Yes, I wanted to write a poem.
